What an amazing time of year to visit New York City
Bryant Park on a Saturday during Holiday time can be absolutely crazy crowded.
But NOT on a Tuesday morning.
We went Tuesday, December 8th
The park is absolutely beautiful. The Holiday market technically doesn’t open until 11 am,but most shops were open at 10: 30 am when we arrived. Skating starts at 8am
We arrived at about 10:30 am. There were no lines for anything! The skating rink wasn’t crowded and there was plenty of seating available around the rink to take in the Holiday vibe.
Visit the link to the website to get the schedule of what daily events they are having in the park each day
Oh the food market. All different kinds of yummies to choose from
The weather was absolutely perfect! and so was the Nutella filled Chimney Cake
And lots of great shops for Holiday shopping. The Angel ornaments ,from a beautiful shop called Windhorse pictured below are handmade and cost between $10.00- $13.00
The Handmade hats. absolutely gorgous!! 100% wool and handmade.
The Facebook tent to try Virtual reality was open. We saw a roped line for crowd management for busier times, but there was no line when we went.By 11:30 am the park started filling with more people. We were so glad we came early, and promised if we came again next year we would be at the park by 9:am to skate and have plenty of room to play and skate for a couple of hours before the crowds came.
My family went to NYC for just a couple of days this trip, but there’s no where like it to put you in the Holiday spirit.
We stayed at one of our favorite Hotels in New York City
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Metropolitan –Address: 569 Lexington Ave, New York, NY 10022
My #1 reason this is the go-to Hotel for my family is that getting around the city is so easy from this Hotel. The subway stations going uptown or downtown are steps from the Hotel.
The lobby has such a cool vibe, and is a great place to hang out.
*The staff are very friendly and offer you warm chocolate cookies when you check in, and will happily give seconds. : )
The rooms are very comfortable and there is natural light.
There is a great coffee shop and bakery to the right of the hotel and a healthy cafe next door to the left for a quick bite
To get to Bryant park from the Hotel : We walked to the subway station across the street from the Hotel and got on the M going downtown and got off right at Bryant park. Subway cost $2.75.
